Privacy Policy
Crawdaddy ("Crawdaddy," "we," "us") helps people find, rate, and order crawfish across Louisiana. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account info — when you sign up, we collect your name or username, email, and password (stored securely, never in plain text).
- Location — if you allow it, we use your device location to show nearby spots and sort by distance. You can use Crawdaddy without sharing location; you just won't get distance sorting. We don't store a history of your movements.
- Content you create — reviews, ratings, photos, spot submissions, and messages.
- Orders & payments — when you place an order or a vendor takes payment, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers; Stripe handles card data under its own policies.
- Usage data — basic analytics like pages viewed and features used, to improve the product.
How we use information
- To run the core service — show spots, rankings, reviews, orders, and catering.
- To process orders, quotes, and payments between you and vendors.
- To send you notifications you've opted into (e.g., boil-day or price alerts).
- To keep Crawdaddy safe — preventing spam, fraud, and abuse.
- To improve features based on aggregate, de-identified usage.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:
- Service providers that run the product — e.g., Supabase (database/auth), Stripe (payments), our hosting and notification providers — bound to handle data only on our behalf.
- Vendors, when you place an order or request a quote (the details they need to fulfill it).
- Legal requirements, when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
SMS & text messaging
Crawdaddy sends transactional text messages (SMS/MMS) about your orders — nothing promotional. There are two types:
- Customers — when you place a delivery order, you may receive order confirmation, "on the way," and delivery-confirmation texts (including a photo of your drop-off). You provide your mobile number and consent at checkout.
- Vendors — if you enable SMS order alerts in your account, you'll receive new-order, unconfirmed-order reminder, and driver-assigned texts for your business.
Message frequency varies based on your order activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe, or HELP for help. Opting out of texts won't affect your ability to use the rest of Crawdaddy.
We do not sell or share your mobile number, SMS opt-in, or consent with any third parties for their own marketing. Your number is used only to deliver the order-related messages described above, sent through our messaging provider on our behalf.
Your choices
- Turn device location on or off anytime in your settings.
- Manage notification preferences in the app.
- Delete your account and its data at any time directly in the app — open your account menu and use Delete account (hold to confirm, then enter your password). You can also request access, correction, or deletion by emailing privacy@crawdaddy.app.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations. You can delete your account at any time — directly in the app (account menu → Delete account) or by emailing us — and we remove your account data promptly.
Children
Crawdaddy is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the new date here and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
