Most spots on Crawdaddy are seeded from public data — addresses, hours, sometimes phones. A free listing is just information about your spot. A Plus listing is your spot, claimed by you. Customers can tell which is which at a glance. Trust beats price.

Crawdaddy already lets users save their favorite spots and toggle price alerts. As a free vendor, that alert never fires for you. As a Plus vendor, the moment you tap Update Your Price and your price-per-pound goes down, every customer with you saved + alerts on gets hit twice: an iOS push notification on their phone the second you submit, and the next time they open Crawdaddy, a dedicated Price Drops screen surfaces every saved spot that just got cheaper. Same-day demand at zero extra work.

One photo is a thumbnail. Five photos is a story. Photo 1 — the catch. Photo 2 — the line. Photo 3 — the seasoning you use. Photo 4 — your owner / staff. Photo 5 — your storefront from the street. Customers tap through, build a vibe, decide before they even read the price.

When you hit a milestone — top 10 in your parish, highest size rating in your city, 100 saves — Crawdaddy generates a shareable badge card you can post to Instagram, print at the counter, or tape to the door. Customers see it, scan the QR, land on your Crawdaddy page, save your spot, get your price alerts. Self-reinforcing loop.

Free vendors submit a ticket like everyone else. Plus vendors get a direct response within hours, not days, and a real human (not a form) on the other end. Photo not uploading on Saturday before the rush? Price showing wrong? Customer review needs flagging? Plus means it's fixed before your boil hits the pot.

When a live-seller marks Sold Out Today, a free listing just looks closed — and customers stop checking back. Plus live-sellers replace that dead end with a Next-Load ETA banner: "Next load — Thursday 7 AM, ~40 sacks." Customers tap Notify Me and get a push the second the new load lands. Your listing stays useful between catches instead of going dark.

The customer buying 20 sacks for a backyard boil is your best order — and the one most likely to call around for a deal. Plus live-sellers set volume discount tiers right on the listing: min sacks → % off, auto-applied at checkout. The discount shows on your public listing ("Buy more, save more"), so big buyers see the deal before they call anyone else.

Most catering inquiries die in the "how much would it cost?" email. Plus catering vendors pre-build packages — headcount, pounds, what's included, a fixed price — so customers browse and pick instead of asking. Family Pack $250, Office Lunch $550, Wedding Boil $1,400. Hide one anytime, reactivate it next season. Fewer questions, faster bookings.

A Pro vendor opens the app, taps Post a Boil Day Update, writes one line, hits post. The note pins to the top of their listing for 24 hours and pushes to every customer who has them saved. Free + Plus vendors don't have this — their listing only shows static info. Boil Day posts are how a Pro vendor converts a slow Tuesday into a packed Tuesday.

The worst customer experience in this business is driving 20 minutes to a spot that ran out at 2pm. They don't blame the rush — they blame you, and they don't come back. Pro vendors hit one button — 🚨 Mark Sold Out / Closed — and every customer with the spot saved gets an instant push. Their drive is canceled, their disappointment never happens, you keep the relationship.

As a free or Plus vendor you have zero idea who's looking at your spot, when, or how often. Pro flips the lights on: a real-time dashboard with total views, last-24h profile visits, last-7d visits, unique visitors, save count, review count, peak hour of the day, and a peak-hours-by-day-of-week chart — refreshed every time the page loads. At the bottom, a single specific recommendation ("Peak views are at 12 PM. Schedule a Boil Day post 1–2h before to convert browsers into walk-ins.") tells you exactly what to do with the numbers above it.

Free vendors get a phone number that rings during boils and goes to voicemail nobody checks. Pro vendors get a messaging inbox — customers tap "Message Owner" on the listing, send a question, you respond when you're not elbow-deep. Catering inquiries, pre-orders for events, "do you have any left at 6pm" — all threaded, all searchable, none lost.

Every free listing has a URL like crawdaddy.app/spot/f3a1c9e2-.... You can't share that on a flyer. You can't write it on the chalkboard. Pro vendors get a clean vanity URL — crawdaddy.app/buckingham — that fits on a business card, prints on a koozie, and reads on a radio ad. First-come on the slug; renewable as long as the subscription stays active.

Featured slots ($299/wk, max 5 per city) are first-come-first-serve and reset every Sunday at noon. Free + Plus vendors find out the same time as everyone else — Sunday at 12:00, mass push, mash the button. Pro vendors get the alert 1 hour early. When a Featured slot opens mid-week (vendor downgraded, didn't renew), Pro vendors are the only ones notified. First tap wins.

Live-sack vendors live and die by the morning haul. Daily Catch Push lets a Pro live-seller blast their saved customers the second a fresh load hits the dock — sack count, price, pickup window — capped at 3 pushes a day so it stays signal. Free + Plus live listings are static; nobody knows today's catch even landed.

The live-sack business runs on no-shows: a customer says "save me two sacks," you hold them, they never come, you eat it. Pro live-sellers turn on Sack Pre-Orders — customers reserve with a deposit you set (10–50%), charged up front. They show up because they've got skin in the game. And if they don't, the deposit is yours.

Every free and Plus listing wears the same stock layout and the same default red. Pro vendors upload a hero banner (your boil, your team, your lot), a circular logo that becomes your pin on the map, and an accent color that themes the whole page. The result is a listing customers recognize on sight — the difference between a row in a directory and a storefront.

A 40-person Saturday boil is 50 walk-ins of revenue in one order. Pro catering vendors get a fully branded catering profile — packages, photos, headcounts, pricing — and an in-app messaging thread so the back-and-forth on a big event happens inside Crawdaddy, not in a missed phone call. Customer browses your packages, messages you, you quote, they put down a deposit. Booked.

When a user opens Crawdaddy in your city, their eye lands on the gold Featured card before the map even loads. Your business name, your size grade, your city, your price-per-pound — sitting above the alphabetical list and pinned to the city scroll. Top-of-funnel attention, paid per week.

Users browse Crawdaddy two ways: the map, and the city list. Featured slots claim both. In list view, your spot sits above the alphabetical / rating / nearest sort — flagged with a gold "Featured" banner — and a customer has to scroll past you to see anyone else. Filter by "Open Today"? Still pinned. Filter by size? Still pinned. The top of the funnel is rented, for a week.

Featured slots get one push notification per week to every Crawdaddy user within a 30-mile radius of the spot. You write the line: "New Saturday boil — biggest of the season." "Pre-order for Easter open now." "$1 off through Friday." Crawdaddy enforces 1×/wk so users don't mute notifications — that cap is the product. Use it on the day you want to drive.

Featured isn't an exclusive tier — it's a weekly spotlight you bolt on. A Free spot can buy a week of Featured. A Pro spot can buy Featured for a specific event week. You're not abandoning your Pro perks (boil-day posts, sold-out push, DMs, monthly recap) while you Feature — you stack on top. Most Featured vendors are Pro vendors using Featured to amplify a launch, a holiday, or a slow stretch.

Featured isn't unlimited. Each city runs just 5 slots (catering runs 2 per parish). That cap is the product: when you're in, you own the top-of-map and top-of-list spotlight for the week, and there's no room left for a competitor to outrank you. First-come every Sunday at noon — the slot you skip, the shop down the street takes.
