SMS Order Alerts

Crawdaddy offers an optional SMS (text message) alert program that notifies our crawfish vendor partners about their own incoming orders. This page explains who receives texts, how vendors opt in, what messages look like, and how to opt out. These are transactional account alerts — not marketing.

Who receives these messages

Only vendors (crawfish businesses listed on Crawdaddy) who have explicitly turned on order-alert texts for their own account. Customers do not receive these messages.

How vendors opt in

A vendor opts in inside the Crawdaddy app (app.crawdaddy.app) under Boiled Order Settings:

  • Enable the toggle “Text me when an order comes in.”
  • Enter the mobile number where alerts should be sent (or leave blank to use the business phone on file).
  • Save the settings.

No texts are sent unless the vendor turns this on. Consent is given by the vendor for their own business line. Enrolling is optional and is not a condition of using Crawdaddy or listing your business.

What the messages are

Vendors receive a text for events on their own orders:

  • New order — when a customer places and pays for an order.
  • Dasher assigned — for delivery orders, when a DoorDash driver is dispatched to pick up.

Sample messages:

  • “Crawdaddy: New PICKUP order — 5 lb + 2x Corn at Crawfish Kings. Open the app to confirm.”
  • “Crawdaddy: Dasher assigned for the 10 lb order at Crawfish Kings. Have it ready for pickup.”

Message frequency & rates

Message frequency varies and depends on how many orders a vendor receives. Message and data rates may apply.

How to opt out or get help

  • Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe from order-alert texts at any time.
  • Reply HELP for help, or email support@crawdaddy.app.
  • Vendors can also turn the alerts off anytime in the app under Boiled Order Settings.

Privacy

Phone numbers used for order alerts are used only to deliver these transactional messages and are never sold or shared for marketing. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
